Oh Anne!

I just bought a three pack of Anne of Green Gables books, at Borders, for only $11, yesterday.  Can't wait to start reading!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today is my dearest mother's special day!  We had a fabulous time.  Between yummy steaks, huge baked potatoes, succulent salad, ice cream, pumpkin sheet cake, and a couple rounds of Wackee Six , fun was had by all.  We also had the privilege of having my cousin and her adorable twins add to the fun.

This is the, beautiful pumpkin sheet, cake that I created.  I'll post the recipe later.

This is one of the paper bowls we used.  The package said they were "designer" so I had to take a picture.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Lots and Lots of Rocks

While Spencer and Allison were here, we went for a little adventure. We decided we wanted to go for a hike in Liberty Lake, but we couldn't figure out how to get to the trail. So, we went to this fun little spot by the Spokane River. The water was really shallow, so Anna and I went rock jumping.

Allison took a picture for us of Anna and I halfway down the archipelago of rocks. Eventually Anna slipped and fell in getting her pants, shoes, and socks soaked. I laughed. I probably shouldn't have because shortly after I slipped, but only got my shoes and sock wet.

This is an awesome heart rock I found but it was too big to enter into our family heart rock contest.

Then, Spence really wanted to go hiking still, so we went to the Indian Painted rocks, but Tucker had to stay in the truck. Spencer talked us into climbing up this small mountain. Allison wasn't feeling up to it, so we only went a fourth of the way up. I took this picture from that point of the Little Spokane River.

We saw this rock at the bottom. It looks like some body sliced it.

Well, after we went a fourth of the way up, Spencer just kept going, so we followed. There were some pretty intense parts (like when we almost got attacked by hornets, or when I almost slipped and fell down). It was such a steep incline, we didn't know how the heck we would get back down, so we decided we would have to just go down the other side. We saw this tree growing out of the rocks. It was crazy, it looked like it should tip over by the way it was growing at a 45 degree angle.

We finally got to the top! We saw this weird rock that looked like a knob.

I took this picture looking up on our way to the top. We had to take about five water breaks on the way up.

Spence and Allison at the top. Thanks for a great adventure Spence!

Huckleberry Picking...Last Month

While Spencer, Allison, Jill, and Colter were in town, we went to Mount Spokane in search of huckleberries. We found a few, but not many. It was still a fun time for all and I'm glad we went.

The sunset on our way out.

We saw a moose on the way in. Spencer got up as close as he could to get a picture.
